Premier Li Keqiang boarded the “Sugar Loaf Mountain” ferry on May 20 in Rio de Janeiro and met with Chinese and Brazilian entrepreneurs.
The Brazilian ministers and Rio de Janeiro Governor Luiz Fernando de Souza accompanied the Premier on the trip.
The ferry was made in China and is named after one of Rio’s biggest tourist attractions and has a capacity of 2,000 passengers. The Premier said it represented another achievement in cooperation between China and Brazil on production capacity and manufacturing.
Li said the two countries’ economies are mutually compatible with their respective strong points and offer great potential for further cooperation.
The Premier said he hopes the Brazilian government will protect the safety and legal rights of Chinese workers and companies in the country, especially small- and medium-sized companies.
The Brazilian representatives said that they want to continue to promote cooperation with China, and will explore more possibilities on production capacity to benefit the two countries and their people.
